Banks Compton
Bio:
Banks Compton is a muralist from Foley, AL. His murals can be found in five states across the country (AL, AZ, RI, MS, and FL), but most of his work is concentrated in small, rural towns in Alabama. The primary objective of his murals is to foster unity and revitalization in these communities through public art. His murals have proven instrumental in encouraging civic engagement, boosting tourism, stimulating local spending, and enhancing local events in the towns he has worked with.
While Compton is renowned for his contributions to small towns, he has recently collaborated with Starbucks to create a mural for a new location in Alabama, which narrates the story of Huntsville, known as the Rocket City. Murals serve as Compton’s passion, allowing him to contribute to the positive transformation of public spaces by establishing enduring and remarkable landmarks that are beautiful and serve to enhance the local community identity.
Theme Description:
Step into a whimsical world where aliens and humans mingle in the most unexpected ways! In my painting I explore the hilarious side of encountering visitors from faraway galaxies, even if they’re a little different from us. With a dash of humor, the artwork encourages us to open our hearts (and spaceship hangars) to the interstellar beings, proving that differences and misunderstandings can be a source of laughter, curiosity, and ultimately, a cosmic connection. Prepare to embark on an adventure of laughter, acceptance, and extraterrestrial surprises that will leave you grinning from ear to ear! |
